Come spend a week with the Outdoor Program for an opportunity to see, and learn how to photograph a sky FULL of stars like you've never seen before in Northern Michigan. There may also be some mild hiking as well as camping under the stars. Let us plan a great weekend trip for you and enjoy the amazing views northern Michigan has to offer, including a possible showing from the Northern Lights! And you get two great, knowledgeable leaders to show you around.

  • Time: ~ 6pm Friday - about 4pm Sunday
  • Location: Wilderness State Park and Headlands International Dark Sky Park
  • Registration Deadline: Sunday, September 17
  • Cost: BGSU Students - $70 | Facutly/Staff - $75 | Community - $80
  • Activity Involved: Hiking, Sky Observation, Astrophotography
  • Experience Level: None
  • Physical Demand Level: Mild to Moderate - Could be walking up and down many stairs and on sand dunes.
  • Clothing Recommendation: DSLR or other high quality camera, warm clothing, water bottles, hiking boots/shoes, swim suit, jacket/coat, headlamp, hammock (optional)
  • Equipment Provided: Tents, sleeping pads and bags, and stoves provided by the Outdoor Program.
