NOTE MATINEE PERFORMANCES AT 2:30PM ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 10, AND SUNDAY'S DECEMBER 4 & 11.
One of America's most beloved Christmas musicals takes the stage this December as the Croswell, in downtown Adrian, presents the sparkling new stage adaptation of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. This classic musical will plays just two weekends at the Croswell: December 2 – 11, 2011.
Based on the popular 1954 movie starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney, the show is about successful song and dance team Bob Wallace and Phil Davis who team up with singing sisters Betty and Judy Haynes to put on a production to save the inn of their former commanding general.
The Croswell’s production stars James Swendsen, Karl Kasischke, Emily Gifford and Lindsey Denham. Also appearing are Chloe Danley, Diane DuRussel, Mia Gladieux, Barry Hartman, Margaret Hyre, Mark Hyre, Rob Kuschell, Brittanie Kuhr, and Bob Stark, plus a host of singers and dancers who complete this cast, which is directed by the Crowell’s own John MacNaughton, with choreography by Julie O’Connell of Chicago, IL. The orchestra is led by Mark Smith of Bedford.
In addition to the delightful numbers like “Sisters,” and “What Do You Do With a General,” that made the movie popular, the show includes sparkling renditions of “The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing,” “Blue Skies” and “I Love a Piano” as well as heart-warming standards like “Count Your Blessings,” “Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me,” and, of course the favorite, “White Christmas.”
"This is the perfect start to the holiday season," says MacNaughton. "We have a great cast, a stellar dance troupe and an engaging story. Audiences have been asking us to do this show, and we’re so pleased that it’s getting such a wonderful response.”
