Toledo, OH
In anticipation of the Glass Art Society's national conference in Toledo, June 13-17, The Arts Commission is eager to host its biennial Hot Glass Exhibition & Gala throughout the month of June. Hot Glass 2012 brings together artists and arts patrons to celebrate Toledo’s heritage as the Glass City. The event gathers original creations of leading glass artists from around the world for auction and raised over $100,000 in 2010 to benefit The Arts Commission activities and programs, paying more than $65,000 to artists for their works. The Arts Commission is excited by the opportunity to create another spectacular auction of the best that our regional, national and international glass artists have to offer. The 2012 Hot Glass Gallery Exhibition will feature more than 60 original works in glass, which will be displayed June 1-28, beginning with an opening reception on Friday, June 1, from 6-8pm, and culminating with the acclaimed Gala Auction event on June 28. The concluding auction event will be held on June 28, 6:30-10:00 p.m. The evening will feature live and silent auctions, heavy hors d’oeurves and desserts, and a cash bar. All artwork will be auctioned, as well as several glass experience and tour packages. Edison Building Lobby, 300 Madison, in Downtown Toledo. Tickets are $45/person. For tickets to the June 28 auction, please call The Arts Commission, 419-254-2787, or email the Arts Commission at hotglass@acgt.org.
