Ninth Congressional District Art Competition
Monday, February 25 - March 29, 2013
The Arts Commission and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur present the Ninth Congressional District Art Competition to honor artistic excellence demonstrated by area high school students. The competition is part of An Artistic Discovery, a nationwide activity initiated by members of the U.S. House of Representatives to recognize and encourage the creative talents of young Americans. The first place winner of the competition has their artwork displayed in the Capital Building in Washington, D.C. for one year. Two runners-up will see works on display in Congresswoman Kaptur’s offices. Added to the competition in 2006, a work of art from the competition will be selected for translation as a design on a Libbey glassware product. Libbey, Inc. also generously hosts a workshop on Careers in Design for participating youth artists. For further information email Michelle Carlson, Programs Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org, call (419) 254-2787 or contact Theresa Morris-Ramos in Congresswoman Kaptur’s office at (419) 259-7500.
