One Be Lo brings Slick MI Hip-Hop to Mickey Finn's Saturday

In the world of alternative rap, style,
stamina, and smarts are what it takes to stand out. Pontiac,
Michigan's One Be Lo has all three.
Like many in the post-Dilla Detroit-area hip-hop scene, One Be Lo has crafted a niche in the regional and underground market for being fast on his feet, clever, and smoothly stylistic. Since 1999 (as a former member of the duo Binary Star), through the release of nine studio albums, One Be Lo has challenged the limitations of hip-hop and pushed to become a front-runner MC in the Michigan circuit. In lyrics and subject matter, he tends to follow in the foot steps of his heroes, such as KRS-One and Q-Tip, blending street-inspired poetry and socially-conscious lyrics into irresistibly catchy, neck-rubberizing grooves. However, One Be Lo's flow is undoubtedly all his own; he seamlessly blends funky hip-hop cadences with hard-edged raps and swift soulful choruses into jams that open the mind, get into the spirit, and leave you feeling a little awestruck, and a lot inspired.
One Be Lo brings his acclaimed high-energy live show to Mickey Finn's Pub (602 Lagrange) on Saturday, November 6. America's Delusional Dream and Marktron open. Doors at 8 p.m. $6 adv./$8 door. www.mickeyfinnspub.com
