Rooney Tops the Bill at Headliners

Rooney, a five piece British Invasion throwback/'80s pop rock outfit, formed in 1999 and after playing the Sunset
Strip clubs and self producing EPs for a couple of years. Then, they made their self titled major label debut and hit the road. Tours with Weezer,
The Strokes, Sloan, The Sounds, The Donnas, Travis, Keane and many
others led to a turdy following. After thier first record reached nearly gold status and yielded
two successful singles, the band retreated to L.A. where, after many hold ups, they recorded "Calling the World" over three weeks time. From there, they toured
the world for another year and a half and secured a first number 1
single in Europe. Currently, the band is touring in support of its recently released third album, Eureeka, which brings them to Headliners, 4500 N. Detroit Ave., on Sunday, August 15.
7 p.m. Tickets are $15 advance, $18 at the door. Advance tickets are available at Culture Clash (419.536.LOVE), and Ramalama Records (419.531.ROCK). www.headlinerstoledo.com
