Where to Drink, Dance and Rock on NYE 2011

So, it's the end of the year again. While you're mulling over all the accomplishments, mistakes, embarrassments, and fun you found this past year, you're also looking toward the weekend with a sense of wonder. Where the hell are you gonna party like its 1999 again this year? It's a tough choice, but hopefully this helps. Whether you're looking to drink, dance, rock or roll, here's Toledo.com's list for your best bets in town to have the time of your life. Looking to "just chill?" Find another list, that's not what we do around here.

Boogaloosa Prayer at Frankie's
Toledo's baddest psychedelic blues rock rings in the New Year with signature sonic riffs and the mind-melting slide guitar of Dooley Wilson. If you're looking to rock, this is your stop.

Great Lakes Crew, 33 1/3, Jack & The Bear at OT
The OT spreads its arms wide for NYE, offering a grab bag of musical styles for the eclectic connoisseur. From the head-bobbin' hip-hop of Great Lakes Crew, to the psychedelic, high-energy blues of 33 1/3 to the swelling, swirling indie-folk of Jack & The Bear - there's something to please most everyone.

NYE BASH w/ Chocking Susan, The Dougouts, and The Shame Game at Woodchuck's
Detroit's Choking Susan is well known the world over for playing raw, boot stomping punk. Four albums, and countless tours has made them in demand where ever they tour -- England,Spain Ireland, Scotland, Rebellion Fest, etc. Toledo rockers The Dougouts never fail to bring the goods when it comes to a good time. Funk in the New Year at the One2 Lounge at Treo Restaurant
Join Treo as they offer up the funkiest party in Sylvania. Funk in the New Year with the Mighthaveben DiscOWE. Ben Langlois and the guys usher in 2012 with a mix of funk and disco that's some of the most unique, original and exciting live music happening in Toledo. Dress to impress, the party goes till 1am.

NYE 2012 at the Courtyard at the Docks
This bash is billed as "the BIGGEST party of the year" and I doubt anyone will come after event mastermind Dustin Rybka for false advertising. Per usual, Toledo's nightlife prince throws a party to remember (or, rather forget, if you do it right). Tickets include hor d'oeurve buffet, midnight champagne toast, balloon drop, Epiphic Photobooth, and dance music all night by DJs Matt Lewis and AK. A portion of the evening's proceeds benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and its mission to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. NYE 2012 at The 329
The new triple threat of digs at 329 (formerly Diva Restaurant and Ole Taco Bar) is the only Grey Goose Vodka sponsored event in Ohio. This one building provides three diverse spaces to spend your New Years, and features live musicians and DJs. Presented by Beautiful People Productions, the party includes places to dance, drink, and/or enjoy a romantic evening. Guests will also enjoy a champagne toast, free buffet all night, and live music by Steven Wooley & Suburban Soul, and DJ's Ian Divine and Preston Prescott, plus more. Third Space New Years Eve Rent Party
Ring in the New Year by helping break in Toledo's newest place, the opening of "Third Space"! Third Space will be the home for the Lucas County Green Party, B-Bop Records and the Media Decompression Collective (MDC). Third Space exists to provide Toledo-area communities with a safe, fun, and relaxed environment in which to discuss important social issues, house events, hold film screenings, put on concerts, and much, much more. In addition to the above entities, Third Space will have a relaxing lounge with coffee & tea, a library of non-mainstream books & magazines, a performance space & gallery and a media center with free WIFI.

But Third Space needs support from the community to exist, and is asking that attendees bring a cash donation to help pay the month's rent. Kids are welcome, the space features a Children's Area.
