Creative Chatter: PechaKucha Toledo
Call for presentations, graphic design, technical support, and creative dialogue! PechaKucha Night Toledo is coming in March. PechaKucha Night is a networking event in which artists, architects, designers, filmmakers, musicians, actors, playwrights, and others can share their ideas, stories, inspirations, and passions. It consists of a series of presentations by local area "creative types" which follow the PKN format of 20x20 (twenty slides shown for twenty seconds each, accompanied by the presenter's narration.) Local artist Kimberly Adams is leading the efforts to develop PechaKucha into an annual event. She states, “Toledo is a passionate city with a lot of renewed energy, growth, and development. The community is very tight knit and we all want to continue to see change and [to] be aware of what is happening in our city. We can become more aware and create change if we stop, listen, and collaborate. I can't think of a better way to do that and to share ideas than through PechaKucha.”
PechaKucha (pronounced 'peh-chak-cha') is derived from a Japanese term for the sound of conversation (“chit-chat”).
PechaKucha Night Toledo is seeking the following:
1. Presenters - Creative types who'd like to talk about what they do, how they do it, or anything else on their mind, using the 20x20 PKN format.
2. Sponsors - Companies or individuals to help get the word out via advertising, provide a suitable location for PKN, loan A/V and computer equipment, design the Toledo PKN logo and collateral layouts, print programs and other materials, and/or staff the event.
3. Organizers - Anyone who is willing to help get things done.
If you'd like to participate in PKN Toledo, please fill out the form on the bottom of the Toledo event page underneath the photo slide show of Toledo landmarks. (http://pecha-kucha.org/night/Toledo).
