Keeping Up With Kids  |  05/01/2012

The flowers are in bloom and the butterflies are all a flutter. May has arrived, and that can only mean one thing: The Butterfly House in Whitehouse is officially open for the season.

Walk through the 3,000 square foot greenhouse filled with colorful tropical and local plants, as more than 1,000 butterflies from across the world fly around you. Perfect for field trips and unique family excursions, the Butterfly House features on-hand experts to help answer any questions or identify unknown species.

If you have an amateur photographer on your hands, have them bring their equipment and enter their shots into the community Photo Contest! Don't forget, Mother's Day is the perfect occasion for visiting the Butterfly House. The facility is typically open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $6.50 for children.
