Space is the Place: Live Painting At Third Space
Eye On Art | 05/09/2012
Toledo native and current Atlanta, Georgia resident, artist Expressionist Wade A Harrison will be at third space / B-Bop Records for live all day in-store painting exhibition on Tuesday May 15 from 11am to 8pm. Wade will be painting a portrait of Sun Ra which he will kindly gift to B-Bop Records for permanent display.
We asked B-Bob owner, Amjad Doumani, why he and Wade decided upon Sun Ra for the in-store painting demo. Amjad stated, "Art is life, and life is partly the art of exploration. Sun Ra always explored new music and never stood still or rested on his laurels. Wade Harrison exemplifies this approach with his paintings and his life. B-Bop Records/third space shares this approach in terms of providing a space where not only customers can get turned on to adventurous music but also provides a space for artists to try new approaches for communication & expression. Furthermore we all love the music of Sun Ra. Space is the Place, as Sun Ra said."
Wade has performed several live painting events in his current city, Atlanta, as he enjoys the “vibe of live painting and interacting with an audience.” Wade and Amjad both emphasized the importance of “giving back and sharing talent” both with one another and the community, but they also need you to make it work. Third Space/ B-Bop Records encourages all budding artists, especially youth art students, and any other folks who love to paint & learn to be involved in this excellent mentoring opportunity. Please share this event information with your friends, artists, art students and anyone else who may be interested.
This event is free and open to the public. Third space/ B-Bop is located at 137 N. Michigan Avenue in Downtown Toledo.
