Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Keeping Up With Kids  |  05/10/2012

A new generation of rowers is invited to participate in Toledo Rowing Club's Youth Rowing Camp this summer. This two week camp is designed for kids ages 11-14, and runs from 9 a.m.-noon weekdays, beginning Monday, July 9th.

Stay healthy and fit with this fun and exciting team sport. The camp is created for rookie rowers to learn the basics of sweep rowing (one row per person), as well as specific rowing techniques. The camp will conclude with an introduction to racing on the water.

Take your rowing knowledge and skills back with you to high school. Rowing clubs currently exist at Anthony Wayne, Central Catholic, Notre Dame, St. Francis de Sales, St. John's Jesuit and St. Ursula. If your school doesn't have a rowing team, the Toledo Metropolitan Rowing Club has you covered.

Founded in 1982, the toledo Rowing Club rows out of the Philip LeBoutillier, Jr. Memorial Boathouse in International Park. The organization provides rowing equipment for adult and student rowers. For more information, and to sign up for the Youth Rowing Camp, visit www.toledorowing.org.
