Hot Summer, Cool Science!

Keeping Up With Kids  |  05/14/2012 8:00 am

Looking for a way to keep your kids' brains in shape over the long, hot summer months? Go no further than Imagination Station, where several Hot Summer, Cool Science Camps will take place in June, July and August.

Registration is currently open for Super Splatter Science Camp. This popular program has already sold out its June sessions, probably because of its promise to introduce campers to the messiest, stickiest, gooiest science experiences ever attempted. Participants will run through pools of Oobleck, spew lava from a volcano, shoot elephant's toothpaste to the ceiling, tie-dye their own t-shirts, and be a part of a giant Mentos fountain. Dress for the mess!

In July, kids will experience Museum in Motion, taking their science know-how to a whole new level. Come and make optical illusions, tornadoes, water rockets and elephant's toothpaste. The sky's the limit with this very hands-on summer camp.

And finally, in August, campers can gear up for Catapults, Coasters and Cars Camp. This creative experience gives kids a first-hand look into the world of engineering. Learn how to build rockets, catapults, zip-lines and even roller coasters using the Think It, Build It, Test It, Do It Again engineering philosophy.

2012 Summer Camps at Imagination Station are intended for campers ages 7-12. Prices are $165 for members and $195 for non-members. Camp includes daily instruction (9 a.m.-4 p.m.), take home activities, camp t-shirt, two daily snacks, simulator theater ride and extended care (8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.).
