TMA Offers Baby Tours

When should you first expose your child to the wondrous world of art? According to Toledo Museum of Art, infants and toddlers are better off in a museum full of artistic representations of people, animals and other familiar subjects.

In fact, studies show that introducing infants to works of art promotes early neuron connections in the brain. And for the verbal toddler, interacting with an adult by naming images and describing the familiar characteristics in a work of art lays the groundwork for visual, cognitive and development.

That’s why Toledo Museum of Art offers several free baby tours on select Fridays: May 17th at 3:30 p.m.; June 14th at 6 p.m.; July 19th at 3:30 p.m. and August 16th at 6 p.m.

Tours are designed for parents and caregivers with infants up to 18 months old. Meet at the TMA Family Center on your select date. One child per parent only, please. For more information, visit http://www.toledomuseum.org/learn/babytours/.
