Maple and Main Art Fair Strolls Into Its Second Year

In 2013 the organizations found the perfect opportunity to expand the Maple and Main Art Show and honor local artisans by establishing the Sylvania Chamber and Sylvania Arts Commission Distinguished Artist Hall of Fame. The first two distinguished artists honored will be Marie Bollinger Vogt, founder of Toledo Ballet and posthumously Edith Franklin noted artisan and potter. Additionally, last year’s Gala honoree Walter Chapman will be added to the Hall of Fame.
On June 1-2 the Maple and Main Art and Wine Stroll will take place featuring a juried art show, entertainment, local restaurants and fine wines. Hours for the Art and Wine Stroll at Saturday, June 1st: 11am-7:30pm and Sunday, June 2nd from 10am-4pm.
The Distinguished Hall of Fame induction which will be held on June 1, 2013 at the Sylvania Historical Village Train Barn. The event will feature gourmet grazing from Sylvania restaurants and wines provided by Heidelberg Distributing. Restaurants that will be on site at the Gala are The Pinnacle/CPW Events, Mancy’s Italian, Ciao Restaurant, Treo Restaurant, Giant Eagle Supermarkets, City BBQ, Chandler’s Caf? and Eston’s Gourmet Creations. A record crowd is expected both for the gala and art stroll. Proceeds from the live and silent auctions will benefit The Edith Franklin Art Expansion Fund for a kiln project, garage renovation and art studio renovation.

Sylvania, Flower Hospital, PNC Bank, Heidelberg Distributing, Sylvania Advantage, City Paper, 101.5 The River, City of Sylvania and Sylvania Township. The significance of this commemorative public induction will be a tremendous tribute to local artists and a fabulous event for Northwest Ohio.
