Socko! extended until June 17

Inside Angles Custom Framing Gallery, located at 6831 Angola Rd., in Holland, Ohio, is extending its exhibit of original art by Carolyn Ellingson. “Socko, The Thrill of Art” will continue on display through June 17. A “grand finale” reception to be hosted on Friday, May 31, 6pm-8pm, is open to the public. The display in Holland fills the gallery with energy and unexpected color, feelings of peace, confusion and life’s experience. It includes dozens of monotypes, intaglio prints and paintings, directed by a sure hand.
The art, abstract yet evoking familiarity, was created by Ellingson in San Francisco during the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s. Ellingson having survived mental illness, cared for three sons, and embraced social media from its inception, expresses these experiences in her images. Ellingson’s vast potential was cut short by mesothelioma in 2002, but her artistic vision can be experienced at Inside Angles in Holland until June 17, 2013. Gallery hours are Tuesday 10-6; Wednesday 10-7; Thursday 10-6; Friday 10-6; Saturday 10-4. Closed Sunday and Monday.
