The divisions in our country have created fear and hopelessness in many. The YWCA of Northwest Ohio encourages all citizens to join together and promote a clear message that Toledo- Lucas County stands for racial, economic, environmental and gender justice. The goal for this event is to span the Martin Luther King Bridge in a visible demonstration of unity. Currently, there are over 30 community groups and organizations participating in the Unity March and Celebration to show that – united- we stand with our country's most vulnerable.
The march will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 beginning at the International Park Gazebo at 4:30, moving to span the Martin Luther King Bridge and ending at Trinity Episcopal Church (316 Adams Street). The march will conclude at the church for a Unity Celebration with light snacks and entertainment. Participants who cannot march are invited to celebrate with us at Trinity Episcopal beginning at 5:30pm. The event will be peaceful and positive; no negative protesting.
