CTW’s Players Company Performs Mystery Spoof

The Players Company of the Children’s Theatre Workshop (ages 7-9) presents The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring, by Janie Downey Maxwell, March 24-26, 2017. In this mystery novel spoof, the Queen has lost her beloved ring, and calls on all thirteen (that’s right, thirteen) of her royal detectives to find it for her. There are plenty of winks and nods to popular mystery characters and tropes, including a suspicious butler who may well have “dunit.”

In addition to this silly, madcap mystery play, young audience members can come to the theatre early to try their own hand at playing the detective in CTW’s Mystery Scavenger Hunt. Child audience members (ages 3-10) will travel from room to room in the Collingwood Arts Center to solve puzzles and riddles, and will receive a magnifying glass prize at the end. The junior gumshoe’s adult can also turn in their card and be entered into a raffle for three passes to Trapped Toledo.

The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring is March 24, 2017 at 9:45 am and 12:30 pm, and March 25-26, 2017 at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The Mystery Scavenger Hunt is at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on March 25 and 26, 2017. The play and Scavenger Hunt will be presented at the Collingwood Arts Center, located at 2413 Collingwood Blvd, Toledo, OH 43620.

Tickets for the production are $6 for students/seniors and $8 for general admission, and can be purchased online or at the door. Tickets for the Mystery Scavenger Hunt are $3; reservations for the Hunt must be made online and in advance, at www.ctwtoledo.org/upcomingproductions.

This production has been sponsored in part thanks to the Ohio Arts Council, HCR ManorCare, the Brotje Family Fund, and Lubrizol.
