The Franciscan Center announces July events

The Franciscan Center of Lourdes University is pleased to announce its July 2017 slate of events.
Monday, July 3 through Friday, July 7
The Lourdes University TRiO Upward Bound department presents its annual Summer Program Theater Week. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the program prepares Waite and Woodward High School students for post-secondary education. Thursday, July 6
The “Shine the Light on Abilities” fundraiser begins at 6:30 p.m. and benefits the iDance Adaptive Performing Arts Center. Live music, a performance by iDance, food, and a silent auction are included. Tickets are $65 each or $500 for a table of eight. Sponsorships are also available. Monday, July 10
The Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo offers a double feature as part of the 5th Annual Toledo Jewish Film Festival. Films include Hummus the Movie and The Last Blintz. The Sylvania Franciscan Village offers the Father Jim Bacik Lecture “Pope Francis and His Critics on Justice Issues” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person in advance and $15 at the door. Monday, July 24 through Friday, August 4
The Sylvania Community Arts Commission offers a summer theatre production workshop camp for students ages 10-17. This two-week workshop, taught by director Irina Zauroy, runs July 24th through August 4th. Classes are held Monday through Friday each week from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. A staged performance is offered on Thursday, August 3rd.
