Hens Vs Heroin, Teaming Up to Strike Out Addiction

It’s the bottom of the 9th, you are down 10 runs, no one on base, and at the end of your batting lineup.  The pitcher keeps throwing curveballs, the crowd keeps cheering against you and the umpire is ready to call you out.   If addiction had a baseball analogy it would sound something like this.
Team Recovery has partnered with the Toledo Mud Hens this year for the second annual Ohio vs Heroin event.  As the war on drugs continues to throw strikes at our community, this event will raise funds, increase awareness and offer invaluable resources to all who attend.
“Toledo is a city that is proud of its brand and history,”said Matt Bell, Team Recovery President. “The Mud Hens are a celebration of what makes Toledo great and teaming up with them on this event allows us to focus on what we can do as a community to fight against this drug epidemic, instead of what the epidemic is doing to us”.   Team Recoveries entire approach to addiction is one of working together to achieve more. “Just like on a ball field when we have a plan, when we work as one, the outcome is always going to be more successful,” said Bell.
On June 29th, Hens vs Heroin is pulling all players from the dugout to provide you with a one stop event for information, education, resources, and some fun! Starting at 4pm at Hensville, guests can join in a FREE resource forum.  Members of Team Recovery, Lucas County Sheriffs DART Officers, The Ohio Attorney Generals Office and more, will be there answering questions and providing information.  At 5pm a panel discussion will take place with a question and answer session.  “We are encouraging families to come to this free event.  We have bounce houses, face painting, giveaways and raffles to encourage a safe and comfortable environment to learn more about addiction in our region.
At 7pm the event moves over to 5/3rd field where the Toledo Mud Hens will take on the Gwinnet Braves.  Tickets for the game are $15 and all proceeds benefit Team Recovery.  After the game there is a free concert from Facing The Demons back at Hensville.
Team Recovery is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in Toledo in 2015.
