Community Photo Shoot at The Love Wall during Art Loop

Art Corner Toledo (ACT), LLC and Right Half Media, LLC with administrative funding support from Lucas County Board of Commissioners will conduct a media campaign to promote Toledo/Lucas County as a welcoming and inclusive community for all. With The Love Wall as a backdrop, Right Half Media will shoot a series of photographs and video highlighting Toledoans who are marginalized or targeted at a time in history when hateful rhetoric, acts of intimidation, and white supremacist terror attacks are rising, putting the rights and safety of diverse community members increasingly at risk. These images will be incorporated into TV, print, and online media advertisements. From 5:00 to 6:00 on the evening of September 21st, during The Art Loop, groups and individuals can have their picture taken in front of the wall. Organizations who work for social justice or minorities are welcome to bring signs or banners promoting their work. From 6:00 on, the videographer will need individuals or groups of 3 or less to take direction and model for a specific video effect.

The Love Wall was painted by Mr. Taylor and MEDE in 2012 as a gift to Toledo’s LGBTQ community and in support of Marriage Equality. Since then, it has become a destination for creative expression and even a Love Fest. The message of The Love Wall is that Toledo loves all forms of love and all diversity of people that love. In it's fifth year, we'll spread the message that TOLEDO LOVES LOVE to all people of diverse cultures and communities. The goal of the TOLEDO LOVES LOVE campaign will be to spread positivity and support, raise the profile of and support for loving all diverse neighbors, and for the community to join in taking a stand that TOLEDO LOVES LOVE.

Partners on this project include Welcome Toledo-Lucas County, Right Half Media, Mr. Taylor, and Toledo.com.
