Five-time Grammy Award winning soprano Kathleen Battle has captivated audiences around the world with her luminous voice and unique artistry. One of the first Black American women to perform at the world's leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Covent Garden in London, and La Scala in Milan, Kathleen Battle will bring to Toledo a special program of stories and spirituals inspired by the extraordinary journey to freedom during times of slavery.

Kathleen Battle only performs this program in cities along the Underground Railroad. It will showcase local treasures, including the Clarence Smith Community Chorus and Voices at BGSU.
