On May 11th & 12th, 2018, Toledo School for the Arts' will present Kaleidoscope at the Valentine Theatre.

For each of the years TSA has been open, the arts school has presented its very best work in a year-end pastiche of music, dance, theatre, writing, art and dance. Each of the performing and visual arts studios present work that represents their highest achievements, and includes classical and pop familiars, original compositions and choreography, short movies, creative writing selections, all produced and performed by TSA's students.

Many of TSA's most popular offerings, like the Glass City Steel Band and Urban Jazz Collective, share the stage with modern dance, ballet, hip hop, tap, chorus, rock bands, mariachi and orchestra. "There is some very exciting short films being done in our video program, and we squeeze in some fashion design, in addition to the costuming for the various performances," explains David Saygers, TSA Artistic Director and producer of Kaleidoscope. "It's quite a spectacle."

A key feature of the show is the fast pace and smooth transitions from piece to piece. "A lot of planning and effort goes into making the 30 or 40 different acts fly by. We'll have 60 musicians on stage and a few moments later a dance number. The behind-the-scenes action is a kind of show in itself."

Both performances will begin at 7pm in the Valentine Theatre. Tickets are $27, $22 and $16 and are available by calling the TSA Box Office at 419-246-8732x226 or online at ts4arts.org or through the Valentine Theatre website.
