The You Are Here Toledo Project (YAH) is a series of large one-of-a-kind outdoor “dots” that we will be affixed to various public locations throughout Toledo to promote positivity and enhance our sense of place. Using the circular shape of a dot (at three feet in diameter); Northwest Ohio artists, designers, students and the general public are being asked to make a powerful visual statement on the dots throughout the city in response to the “dots” location, which will go on display in June 2012. One hundred (100) dots will mark the city, each containing a QR (quick response) code that will allow smartphone users to learn more about the artwork, its location and its artist. For non-smartphone users each dot will also have the project’s URL for searching the work at their convenience. This is project is unique to Toledo and will showcase the amazing artistic talent and places of this region.

These are long lasting – 2 decades and counting — collaborations between city, county and state programs, community leaders, shelters, social service agencies, housing providers, AND local governments, local media, schools, churches, youth groups and others. Among the services provided by these collaborations are basic medical and dental care, medical testing and screening, information to find readily available housing for homeless youths, jobs, housing, food and clothing, meals, critical documents, legal aid, haircuts, showers, smoke detectors, blankets, personal care kits, auto repair, and on-site child care enabling parents to access our services.

1Mile Matters is an annual walk to bring the community together to support the unhoused.  The walk this year will begin at Promenade Park @ 7pm on Friday 10/26, and end at Tent City for free music and entertainment.

  • Adams Street Zombie Crawl
  • @ Adams Street (downtown)
  • October 26th, 2012
The eerie season of swarms and storms is back upon us and that means it's time to start storing food for winter. What food, you may ask? Well ... BRAINS of course!

Slop and stumble your living corpse onto the livest dead street in the city, Adams Street, in the untold catacombs of the Uptown Neighborhood. Join a cast of graveyard comrades to wreak havoc onto the street and in the bars as you terrorize the dim-witted living ... and your liver too! Last year, more than 1,000 bodies crawled from the shadows to chew on souls and barstools alike. This is the biggest zombie bash of the year - don't miss out! You and your undead friends are cordially invited to drag your limp remains to Wesley's Bar at 8:30 p.m. At roughly 9:30 p.m., the march for brains and beers will slumber slowly up the center of the street on a bar crawl that will curdle your grandmother's blood.
