Lourdes Appold Planetarium is one of Northwest Ohio’s best places to see the stars! Featuring SciDome technology, the facility’s real-time star simulation allows education and fascinating sights year-round. Originally started as the Lourdes Copernicus Planetarium in 1968 by Lourdes’ founder Mother Adelaide Sandusky, the planetarium reopened with new technology in 2006.  Appold has regular educational programming that is updated on their website throughout the year.

Generally, shows at Appold are on Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. The planetarium seats 50 people, and reservations are recommended. Recently, the planetarium began a collaboration with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra to bring music to the programming.
