The programs of the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center (SQACC) advance the important roles that art and education play in every day lives. We teach basic life skills (such as carpentry, gardening, painting, etc.) while offering opportunities for artistic expressions and cultural exposure. Our events increase awareness of the Latino culture and provide networking opportunities. SQACC's largest annual event is the celebration of the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in which we honor loved ones who have passed away. Through "First Friday," a free event open to public held on the first Friday of every month, we have open discussions on relevant community issues and promote different aspects of the Latino culture.
