Founded in 1939 by Marie Bollinger Vogt, the Toledo Ballet is the oldest and finest school for classical and contemporary dance education in Northwest Ohio. Throughout its 75-year history, the Toledo Ballet has been a leader in the regional performing arts community by cultivating the love of dance through superb education, performance, and outreach. Toledo Ballet offers classical ballet as well as an extensive contemporary division and boasts the oldest continuously running annual Nutcracker in the entire country.

Toledo Ballet's mission is to promote the interest of dance through superb studio instruction, top quality performances, and exensive educational outreach. While 75% of classes offered are in classical ballet, other classes include jazz, tap, contemporary fusion, modern, musical theatre, various fitness classes, classes for toddlers, preschoolers, and adults. Toledo Ballet is also proud of its Adaptive Dance class for individuals with Down syndrome.
