The Toledo Swiss Singers were founded in 1869. Our aim is to retain and preserve the culture and songs of Switzerland, to live up to our ancestors' tenets of faith and behavior, help others, and to be good citizens. We hold 3 concerts every year at our home at Oak Shade Grove, in nearby Oregon. We sing in the Swiss languages, mixed with American folk, Broadway tunes, and religious favorites. We are active members of the German American Festival Society (GAF) which holds the largest ethnic festival in this part of the country.
We practice on Wednesday nights 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., starting right after Labor Day - thru our concert in May. We are always looking for singers - male or female who like to sing. Knowledge of the language is not manditory as we learn the songs phonetically. If you like to sing, come out and give us a try.
