The proud tradition of The Teutonia M?nnerchor is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the best of German culture in America.

You will enjoy the German singing, fun, activities and camaraderie that flourish in the Teutonia M?nnerchor family.

The Teutonia M?nnerchor was founded in 1867 as a German male chorus. As such, it is the oldest continuing performing arts group in the Toledo area. The ladies' chorus, the Teutonia Damenchor, was founded in 1969.

The Teutonia choruses rehearse every week on Monday evenings at Oak Shade Hall, 3624 Seaman Rd., in Oregon. There are currently 60 singers in the choruses. The choruses are under the direction of Eric Graber.

Teutonia members enjoy a busy musical and social schedule. The choruses sing numerous concert performances in Toledo. Highlights are its annual Christmas Concert, annual Spring Concert with guest choruses, singing in area churches, nursing homes and civic events. The Teutonia M?nnerchor is the oldest sponsor of the annual German-American Festival.

The Teutonia participates in national and district song festivals and visits choruses in other cities, as well as hosting choruses in Toledo. Each year, the choruses sponsor fund raisers: a St. Valentine's Day Dinner, a Good Friday Fish Fry, a chicken barbecue and corn roast, called the Kornfest, and a Sunday German dinner. In 1991 and 1995, the choruses made two-week concert tours in Germany and Austria. The Teutonia also hosts choruses from Germany and Austria.

The Teutonia Family encourages people who are interested in having fun and carrying on the preservation of German Song, language, culture and tradition to join us.

Auditions or the ability to speak or read German are not required. For those who don't sing, each of the choruses has associate memberships. Komm' sing' mit uns!
