The Butterfly House, located in nearby Whitehouse, Ohio offers visitors the opportunity to view hundreds of species of butterflies in a beautiful enclosed garden setting.

With more than 500 butterflies from as far away as South America and Asia, The Butterfly House's controlled environment lets the general public view more than 100 species of the colorful insects they might, otherwise, only see in books or on television. Visitors also learn about the life cycle of the butterfly and how to provide a healthy environment for the insects.

Whether sitting on the many benches provided or leisurely strolling the gardens, butterflies are everywhere. Visitors have to be careful where they walk or sit as the butterflies are not at all shy with humans. Many will land on a colorful shoulder or even a hand!

While the live butterflies and moths flutter from flower to flower, experts are available to ask questions or discuss topics of interest regarding the insects. And since the life span of a butterfly is only about two to three weeks, a new species is introduced each week.

Throughout the season, The Butterfly House sponsors many events including a monarch egg hunt on the grounds and a popular monarch release program in September.
