Owens Community College
Named for Michael J. Owens, a Toledo glassmaker and inventor, Owens Community College has been educating students for some 40 years.
Begun as a technical institute in 1965, Owens Community College has steadily grown to accommodate two campuses ( Toledo and Findlay) and service thousands of students in more than 150 areas.
Today, Owens CC offers associate degrees, certificates and non-credit courses to the communities it serves and has agreements with more than 20 four-year colleges and universities allowing students to complete their first two years at Owens and then transfer their credits as they work towards their bachelor’s degree.
The college offers courses in Arts & Sciences, Business & Information Technology, Fine & Performing Arts, Health Sciences, Technology, Natural Science Technologies, Public Safety and Preparedness and Skilled Trades Technologies. And with an average class size of about 15 students, the college advertises “an ideal learning environment that allows for more personal attention.”
The Toledo-area campus is located on Oregon Rd. in Perrysburg, Ohio, while the Findlay campus is located on Bright Rd. For more information, visit www.owens.edu.
