CHOCOLATE MENORAH TO BE BUILT AND KINDLED AT FRANKLIN PARK MALL
Celebrating the Holiday of Light overpowering the darkness

TOLEDO, OH  - To celebrate the 2018 Hanukkah season, Chabad House of Toledo invites the community to help complete a Menorah made of chocolate and to join for a celebration of light and Chanukah joy!

A Menorah Lighting Ceremony, which will give honor to Toledo leaders, will take place following holiday crafts and activities in a children’s chocolate wonderland, music and refreshments. The event will take place at the food court in the mall.  The kindling of the Menorah symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and Chabad of Toledo’s goal is to help spread this message of unity and joy.

Today, the unprecedented public display of Hanukkah has become a staple of Jewish cultural and religious life, as well as a universal symbol for peace and unity, forever altering the American practice and awareness of the festival. This year, Chabad will set up more than 15,000 large public menorahs in more than 90 countries around the world, including in front of landmarks such as the White House, the Eiffel Tower, and the Kremlin. Toledo’s public Menorah joins the others around the world, and will stand at Franklin Park Mall throughout the 8 days of the holiday.

WHEN: Monday, December 3 5:00 PM (Actual Menorah Lighting: 5:45 PM)

WHY: Chabad House of Toledo will present the Chocolate Menorah and the candle lighting to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and spread the message of joy and unity.
