This twelfth annual Open House on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Toledo Amtrak station at Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza, 415 Emerald Ave., which serves Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, celebrates all things RAIL, and this year will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike in Promontory Summit, Utah on May 10, 1869.

This family-friendly event, with FREE ADMISSION and FREE PARKING, has a mission of educating the public and elected officials about the importance of rail, both locally and nationally, and features model railroad layouts, rail history and advocacy displays, rides on handcars and speeders, children's train rides, Amtrak and freight railroad exhibits, kid's Operation Lifesaver workshops, vendors, drawings for prizes, food, and music.
