GENERAL EVENT NOTICE: Due to recent concern over the spread of the corona virus, suggests confirming with the actual organizers that this event is still proceeding as planned.

Event Details:

“Bon Appétit!” is a comedic, short, one-woman opera based on a television broadcast of beloved chef Julia Child making a French chocolate cake. Toledo Opera is excited to present Lee Hoiby’s musical monologue, featuring mezzo-soprano opera singer Lindsey Anderson, between a delectable French dinner at Registry Bistro and a divine dessert bar featuring the very cake made in the opera. “Bon Appétit!” is funny and personal, and it is sung in English with piano accompaniment.

Two ticket options-- both include this one-night-only performance, staged in the ballroom of the Secor Building in downtown Toledo.

General Ticket: $40, includes dessert and complimentary champagne.

VIP Ticket: $150, includes multi-course dinner with wine pairings prepared by Chef Erika Rapp plus dessert and champagne; only 60 VIP tickets available!

Cocktail hour for VIP ticket holders will begin at 6 p.m. in River House Arts Gallery, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Registry Bistro dining room. Doors to the ballroom will open at 7:30 p.m. for general ticket holders with the performance at 8 p.m. followed by dessert. Valet parking will be available, and a temperature-controlled indoor walkway spans between the Port Lawrence Parking Garage and the Secor Building. This will be a memorable Monday evening that will still get you home in time for a fresh Tuesday morning!

“Bon Appétit!” would make an excellent holiday or hostess present, especially to a gourmand or baking enthusiast and of course, an opera lover. Special wine baskets and gift packages are available by calling the Toledo Opera office at 419-255-SING (7564).
