Event Details:
A protest for KIDS to support Black Lives Matter
And remind Toledo’s grown-ups to VOTE!
With questions, contact event organizer: Rachel Richardson at [email protected]
Join Toledo kids and families on Sunday, October 11th at 2:00 in the Monroe Street parking lot of Glenwood Lutheran Church. Make a sign to support Black Lives Matter and remind everyone how important it is to vote. Help the littlest Americans understand the importance of supporting Black Lives Matter and plant the seeds to stand up for social justice through peaceful protest. Remind grown ups that their vote is crucial for the future of every kid in America. Participate in a protest march around the museum! No Justice! No Peace!
Note from Pastor Chris of Glenwood Lutheran Church:
To all who come to raise their voices, I am so proud to be your neighbor when you speak about your deepest values in a public way. As a church, we must remain non-partisan which means please no signs for or against a particular candidate when you’re on the church’s grounds. On a question of who is worthy of love and justice, however, the church must not be silent: Black lives matter. I want to thank you all, especially the littlest Americans, for following the words of the late, great Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, “Fight for the things you care about in a way that will lead others to join you.”
Peace to you all!
Supplies for signs will be provided but we'll take help if anyone has extra poster board, paint, and markers.
Social distancing and masks are mandatory.
