Event Details:
Ballet Theatre of Toledo (BTT) is opening its doors to prospective students and their families for its Winter Open House from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on January 10, 11, and 13th. The open house features a chance to observe classes, tour the state-of-the-art facility, meet its world-class faculty, talk with current parents, and hear about performance opportunities.
BTT offers classes for boys and girls aged 3½ through adult. Its mission is to inspire a life-long passion for ballet and the arts through world-class technical training, artistic creativity and unique performing opportunities. BTT is under the artistic direction of Nigel Burgoine, recipient of a 2020 Ohio Governor’s Award for the Arts and a former Principal Dancer with the London Festival Ballet (now the English National Ballet). Toledo’s own former prima ballerina Anne Marie Getz is the Associate Artistic Director.
BTT students have the chance to perform throughout the year. In addition to Nutcracker, a glorious holiday tradition in Toledo’s spectacular Valentine Theatre, BTT stages productions with original choreography and professional sets and costumes locally and at regional theaters like the Sandusky State Theater and Niswonger Performing Arts Center. As a community arts organization, BTT has collaborated with the Toledo Opera, Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo Symphony, Masterworks Chorale, SonoNovo Chamber Ensemble, University of Toledo, Toledo Zoo, and the Perrysburg Symphony. BTT’s next production, The Little Mermaid, will be staged March 26, 2022, at the Valentine Theatre.
