Event Details:
ALLUVIUM is a collaborative poetry and photography exhibition
featuring poems by Ryan A. Bunch and photographs by James Dickerson
(Dirtykics) and Natalie Tranelli Jacobs, and featuring drawings by
Josh Byers (60wattfunnel). The exhibition plays on the inherent
imagistic quality of poetry and the related poetic qualities of
portrait and street photography. Where each medium leaves intentional
space for readers and viewers to fill in the larger narrative, these
are crafts of imagination. In combination, the large-scale printed
work and accompanying exhibition book offer the opportunity to more
concretely compliment and ground each form in image and words but open
a third element of wonder. The works presented here are wholly Toledo,
a city built on the fertile and gnarly deposits of the largest
watershed feeding the Great Lakes. A city built on dismantled bluffs
only to be dismantled itself. Yet, the ground here is fertile
territory for growth, rebirth, a subtle forcefulness embraced by the
creative community to rebuild from the water our own new vantages to
peek at the future and to see exactly who we are from a slightly
different angle.
