Join the Toledo Museum of Art Library & Archives for an engaging discussion of this powerful novel, led by Dr. David Guip. When a remote Anishinaabe community suddenly loses power and contact with the outside world, survival becomes uncertain. As resources dwindle and tensions rise, the community turns to tradition and resilience to navigate collapse and renewal. Rice’s story blends suspense with cultural insight, offering a profound exploration of identity, leadership, and hope in the face of crisis.

On Friday, March 13, Dr. Guip will also present a lecture in the CVA on Anishinaabe art, providing a deeper cultural context for the novel. Please follow this link to register.

Art Book Club events are free and open to the public, but registration is required.
