Paddle & Groove Concert Series on the Maumee River
Black Swamp Conservancy is returning with a great way to enjoy a summer evening in Toledo!
Join us in June, July, and August as we board a band onto a pontoon boat and take off down the river.
Paddle along and enjoy live music on the open water by renting a kayak from Maumee Tackle Fishing & Kayaking Outfitters for $45 or bringing your own boat (kayak or canoe only) for $15. Children under 18 must be in a tandem kayak or canoe with an adult.
The events will take place from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. Come early to unload and launch your boat or to get your kayak rental ready.
June 24 | Handmade Moments | Handmade Moments is a fearless, all-weather duo based in New Orleans, LA. Anna Moss and Joel Ludford's endearing personalities guide us through diverse musical flavors of American music. Their live show offers a memorable mix of intoxicating vocals, bass clarinet, saxophone, sousaphone, guitar, upright bass, and tag team beatboxing.
July 15 | Dustin Dale Gaspard | Bilingual Blues, Roots, Folk songwriter touring all across North America performing as a Bayou Bard. Guitar, banjo, tambourine, harmonica one man band with reverence for old soul classics, swamp pop music and his Cajun heritage
August 5 | Djangophonique | An award winning project that delivers the infectious joy, and expressive freedom that is at the heart of Django Reinhardt’s jazz manouche. The result is a sound that’s unmistakable to fans of the music, and alluring to the uninitiated. It is a sound that can bring the lively energy of a Parisian dance hall to the quietest listening room or captivate a buzzing festival audience with the aching nostalgia of a shimmering ballad.
