PARK(ing) Day is a global, public, participatory project where people across the world temporarily repurpose curbside parking spaces and convert them into public parks and social spaces to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets for people.
Downtown Toledo is experiencing an exciting revitalization, opening up new ways to think about how people move through and experience our city. A ConnecToledo parking study highlights that many downtown parking spaces are underused, suggesting an opportunity to imagine new possibilities for these spaces. For PARK(ing) Day, Toledo Design Collective is exploring that idea in a hands-on way — for one day, parking spaces are transformed into places for people of all ages to gather, play, and connect.
