Wild Reads Book Club at the Toledo Zoo

From animals to ecosystems, from trees and flowers to tigers and frogs, Wild Reads is the place for you! Read the selected books then meet at the zoo for a lively literary discussion with mimosa (or coffee) in hand. At the conclusion of the discussion, participants will enjoy a tour of the zoo highlighting the themes and topics of that meeting's book.

Life of Pi
Step into a story where survival, imagination, and our bond with animals take center stage. Join us at this meeting of the Wild Reads book club as we read and discuss Life of Pi, before we bring its themes to life with an unforgettable zoo experience. After our discussion, participants will visit Tiger Terrace and Kingdom of the Apes, where Toledo Zoo keepers will share firsthand insights into animal husbandry and global conservation efforts. We’ll conclude the day at Kodiak Ridge with a powerful brown bear training demonstration—an up-close (and thankfully land-based) look at trust, care, and cooperation between humans and animals.
