20 North Gallery Opens “Luminosity”
Exhibition of new and existing artwork by “shining lights” of the arts in Toledo

Toledo, OH—April 1, 2017.               On Friday, April 7, 20 North Gallery will open “Luminosity,” an exhibition of new and existing works by eight artists of the Toledo area who have served as “shining lights” in the local arts landscape and beyond. Exhibition of the artists’ works will continue through June 30, 2017.

In addition to the “Luminosity” exhibit, 20 North Gallery continues to display glass, paintings, jewelry and artist’s cards by noted artists of the region.

Exhibiting artists of “Luminosity” include impressionistic painter Aaron S. Bivins, printmaker Michelle Carlson, realist painter David J. Eichenberg, neon artist Philip Hazard, glassblower and pastel artist Kelly Sheehan, realist painter Michael Sheets and realist painter Dennis Wojtkiewicz, as well as flat-panel glass and cast paper sculpture from the estate of the late Tom McGlauchlin.

20 North Gallery art director Condessa Croninger remarks, “The theme of this show centers around the quality of light that illuminates the work of the participating artists, both in their art and their contributions to the arts of Toledo. All eight of the ‘Luminosity’ artists have had far-reaching influence in their careers, either through national and international exhibitions, as mentors and educators of emerging artists, or both.”

Gallery owner Eric Hillenbrand states, “After more than twenty years of exhibitions, we have invited these artists to participate in ‘Luminosity’ because of their longstanding commitment to the artistic heritage of our region as well as 20 North Gallery, itself. All eight artists have played an important role in the history of our gallery and have been ‘shining lights’ that have inspired us in our mission to bring the best of local, regional and international art to Toledo audiences. We are delighted to welcome these old friends back to our space and we look forward to twenty more years of exhibits with old—and new—friends.”

The exhibition coincides with the opening of Venue, 20 North Gallery’s new after-gallery hours lounge, which will operate Wednesdays through Saturdays from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

Hillenbrand continues, “The combination of fine art and fine entertainment is a natural fit. We hope Venue will provide art patrons a fuller opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the exhibited work by being able to sip a glass of wine or cocktail while relaxing in a gallery environment at the end of the day.”

20 North Gallery and exhibiting artists will be welcoming friends and collectors at the free Opening Reception for “Luminosity” on Friday, April 7, from 6 - 9p.m. The reception will feature a free appetizer buffet and cash bar.
