Ever had an idea you thought would make a great business? Or ever wanted to launch your own startup? Don't waste time finding out what everyone else has learned the hard way...we've condensed the entire process into our Code City Startup Bootcamp. Learn about testing key assumptions, finding talent and funding, creating business models and a whole lot more by an expert instructor.

Our Code City Startup Bootcamp will be lead by Jim Knapp. Following is a little bio on Jim. In this bootcamp you'll learn the entire process of a launching a startup from idea to commercialization. It'll cover everything from value propositions and teams to market & investment support, business models, technical and financial needs, and an 8 stage process from idea to company building.

"Jim Knapp has been in tech & complex manufacturing businesses for over two decades. While working full time, he earned a BS in mechanical engineering, an MBA and also become a certified Dale Carnegie Instructor (Adjunct). Jim challenged himself in a very diverse set of positions in engineering, operations, marketing and sales focused on ten plus industries to round out his experience. He is both very innovative and entrepreneurial, developing advanced processes requiring automation equipment built with advanced tooling in order to take on new and growing business. One such solution, a specialized machining insert that doubled the throughput of a manufacturing process he designed when he was 21 was awarded a patent four years later. In recent years, he has been performing as an advisor to startup companies including participation in the NSF Innovation Corps at the national level.

Last year Jim held an entrepreneur in residence position prior to becoming COO and partner in the SaaS startup, LightStance LLC. LightStance focuses on delivering a cloud-based strategic planning and execution platform to drive positive impact on return on investment and strong high-performing company culture. The projects Jim most enjoyed was building a neutron reflector for Rutherford Appleton Laboratories, cryogenic grade materials for NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope set to launch 2021 and tiles for the JET fusion test reactor. When Jim is not busy, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, family and friends. His hobbies are reading, writing, playing chess, working out, smoking meat and perfecting his Matt Foley impersonation".
