GENERAL EVENT NOTICE: Due to recent concern over the spread of the corona virus, Toledo.com suggests confirming with the actual organizers that this event is still proceeding as planned.

Event Details:

On April 4, communities all over the nation will recognize the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King's speech "Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence." In this speech, Dr. King described the U.S. as "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world" and urged all to unite to confront "the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism."

Join us to listen to a reading of the speec and to enjoy refreshments and conversations afterward. The event is part of a national effort organied by the National Council of Elders who ask others to join them "in building this movement to breaj silence, promote dialogue, and engage in nonviolent direct action."

If your organization would like to send a reader to help present the speech, or for more information, call or text 419-283-8288 or email [email protected]

We hope you will join us!
