Event Details:

Each year the African American Club at Maumee Valley holds a Black History Month dinner to celebrate African American culture. The main goal for this gathering is to come together as a community and discuss important topics in black culture today. In previous years these discussions have been conducive to bringing together people from different backgrounds and getting their opinions on controversial subjects.

On February 27 from 6-8pm, Afro-Am Club will continue their annual tradition. There will be a panel of respected community members answering questions on “Justice”, this year’s theme. The night will start off with food and entertainment and after that the introduction of panelists:

Angelita Cruz Bridges - Assistant United States Attorney

Roger Perry - Prison Psychiatrist

Vallie Bowman-English - Clerk of the Toledo Municipal Court

Daniel Brandon - Police Officer

The audience is encouraged to add their thoughts to the conversation. The general public is invited to come, and for a fee of $5, participate in the dinner and the discussion.
