Event Details:

The JDRF Metro Detroit & South East Michigan Chapter is taking a team of TrialNet clinical researchers and Research Information Volunteers (RIVs) “on the road” for the JDRF Research Road Tour. Participants will learn about the latest updates on important research and progress toward the prevention, treatment and/or cure of type 1 diabetes (T1D), as well as information about how to participate in TrialNet-coordinated research.

Sharing information as part of the JDRF Research Road Tour will be Inas Thomas, M.D., associate professor, Pediatric Endocrinology; Michigan Medicine, University of Michigan, and Andrea Haddad, BS, CCRP, clinical research coordinator, University of Michigan.

JDRF RIVs will elaborate on the types of research JDRF is focused on in the prevention, treatment and/or cure of T1D – such as beta cell regeneration/replacement, the artificial pancreas, immunotherapy and glucose control – as well as investments the organization has made into this research and its current partnerships.

JDRF’s Research Road Tour events are free and open to anyone impacted by T1D, but registration is required due to limited available seating. Light refreshments will be provided. To register for a tour date, please visit: www.jdrf.org/michiganeast/roadtour.
