GENERAL EVENT NOTICE: Due to recent concern over the spread of the corona virus, Toledo.com suggests confirming with the actual organizers that this event is still proceeding as planned.

Event Details:

This very special program is cosponsored with Wild Ones and MultiFaith Council of Northwest Ohio. Hometown Habitat, Stories of Bringing Nature Home, is a documentary focused on showing how and why native plants are critical to the survival and vitality of our local ecosystems. It features renowned entomologist Dr. Douglas Tallamy, whose research, books and lectures on the use of non-native plants in landscaping sound the alarm about habitat and species loss. Tallamy provides the narrative in the film that challenges the notion that humans are here and nature is someplace else. “It doesn’t have to, and shouldn’t be that way.” This is a special screening event with Catherine Zimmerman who will talk about the film and answer questions.

The film is of particular interest to us locally as it features scenes from northwest Ohio that will look familiar and also Dr. Todd Crail and University of Toledo Environmental students who worked to restore important habitat at Irwin Prairie.

Due to a large interest in this event, we recommend you arrive early to secure a seat.
