Fair Housing: A Place to Call Home
Monday, April 24, 2017 @ 7 p.m.
USA, documentary
The U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1968 made it illegal to refuse to sell or rent a place to live to anyone based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, familial status or disability.  But that didn’t prevent discrimination.  This film recounts the history of housing discrimination in the United States while profiling the origins and ongoing work of the Toledo Fair Housing Center.  This fledgling organization founded in 1975 by a core group of concerned citizens had a central focus to expand equal housing opportunities for all people both locally and nationally. Today, the Toledo Fair Housing Center is recognized as a national leader for its fair housing investigations, precedent setting cases, enforcement, advocacy, training, and outreach.

Neither Heaven Nor Earth
Monday, May 1, 2017 @ 7 p.m.
France/Belgium, drama/thriller
In this supernatural war film, French Army Captain Antares Bonassieu and his squad are assigned to monitor a remote valley of Wakhan, Afghanistan on the border of Pakistan. Negotiating control of the region between local shepherds and possible Taliban sympathizers grows more and more tenuous for them as men from all sides start mysteriously disappearing. Unable to explain this eerie phenomenon, the soldiers find themselves embroiled in an existential nightmare, desperate for their own safety.
