Event Details:

Michele Raine, Assistant Director of the Wood County District Public Library, will present the varied aspects of literature during and following WWI. Much has been written about the shock and horror of the warfare introduced on World War I battlefields.  This was also one of the first wars to generate such depth of poetry and literature around the experience of war both at home and in the trenches.  Through contemporary and modern fictional accounts we will explore the fears, hopes, duties, and gender roles changed forever by the war.
