Event Details:

The Bodhran is an Irish drum that gained its popularity in the 1960s and is commonly played in Irish music - particularly traditional Irish music sessions. While perceived as one of the easier instruments to learn, it's important to develop good techniques and know certain etiquette for playing in sessions. We are delighted to have a local musician, Elizabeth Collins lead the workshop.

Elizabeth has been drumming for 15 years and is a Scottish Pipe Band snare drummer. She found her way to the bodhran through the love of traditional Irish music. She has studied the drum in Ireland with some of the very best contemporary players and loves to spread the joy of this special instrument. Bringing your own drum is encouraged, but if you attend and need one, please let us know! We will have a separate room at the Casual Pint for this event. Space is limited to 10 spots so buying in advance will secure your spot.
