Gathered to Host Artist Talk with Marilyn Yakumithis

Gathered Glassblowing Studio, downtown Toledo’s premier studio/gallery space, is proud to host an artist talk and discussion with Marilyn Yakumithis on Friday, December 13th 2019 from 6-8pm. As a part of Gathered’s Featured Artist series, Yakumithis will be discussing her body of wearable works, Remnants. Remnants is a collection of Yakumithis’ works influenced by ancient ruins and metalsmithing processes of antiquity filtered through a contemporary lens. Yakumithis will be discussing her residency at Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Athens, Greece, her recent transition back to the Toledo area, and how her travels and recent relocation have influenced her new works. After the artist talk, Yakumithis will conduct a short demonstration of her fabrication process along with a short Q&A.

Gathered’s gallery and upstairs studios will be open with demonstrations and tours of The Black Iron Press letterpress studio and Pegboard Press printmaking studio. This event is free and open to the public.
